The Area:A mere 165 miles from the Maine border in Kittery, the town of Bingham located along the Kennebec River on Route 201 in the Upper Kennebec Valley, has everything a snowmobiler needs to set up base for touring the region's trail systems. Lodging from motels to comfortable winterized cabins, guide services, sled rentals, gas and restaurants are all located within the area.
TRAILS: The Valley Riders SC maintains the trail system with its powerful Pisten Bully groomer which is run by volunteers. The Club maintains a length of ITS 87 as well as miles of other area trails. Snowmobilers based in Bingham can ride ITS 87 up through Moscow, Caratunk and the Forks, then onto the Moosehead or Jackman area. Riders can also head out ITS 84 through New Portland and Kingfield. The area's local trails offer more relaxed riding and a chance to slow down and enjoy the elevated views and woodland scenery found here.
